    Feeling Down? 5 Self-Care Tips To Improve your Mood

    1. Check in with your emotional, physical, psychological, spiritual, and professional care needs. Are you placing too much emphasis into one area? Has one area been neglected that needs care? Open space in your life for your overall well-being. Even if its just for ten minutes!

    2. Relax and don’t feel guilty about doing it. Putting too much on your plate or overextending yourself with commitments can overwhelm the brain. Take time for the relaxing activities you enjoy and remember to breathe.

    3. Creative outlets can be a great way to bring purpose or meaning into your life. Find a passion that brings you joy. This may include drawing, photography, writing, playing, cooking, gardening, etc. These outlets are for enjoyment not perfection. You deserve it!

    4. Find a licensed professional to get things off your chest, heal trauma, manage stress, and discover tools for mental illness. Not ready? Thats ok. Begin by journaling, talking to trusted family and friends, or seeking information through books. You are not alone.

    5. Detox from technology. In 2021 that is easier said than done, however placing boundaries on texts, phone calls, and social media is important for your sense of well-being. Taking breaks on technology creates space for other things. Try choosing a different activity rather than scrolling on instagram, Facebook, and other forms of social media.
