    Trauma

    When we experience a stressful event and it ends, our symptoms of STRESS begin to subside and we move on. When stress is over… it’s over, but when we experience a TRAUMA it changes our brain. It changes how we react to the world, our relationships, and our identity. There are different types of trauma and traumatic events, some being on a much larger scale. When someone has been traumatized there is a strong vulnerability to intense emotions over minor issues. These minor issues to a trauma survivor can feel catastrophic. It can make a trauma survivor feel out of control and their body relives the event. If you are a trauma survivor and reading this remember it was not your fault. You are not to blame. Forgive yourself for burning bridges. Reach out for help and healing.
